Cycling

Departing from Beauvais train station (1 hour 10 minutes from Paris-Nord), this route allows you to discover the assets of the Oise prefecture: Place Jeanne-Hachette and the Hôtel de Ville, Saint-Pierre Cathedral which celebrates the 800th anniversary of the laying of its first stone in 2025, the MUDO-Musée de l’Oise, the Saint-Quentin marsh and the Canada lake.

Its bucolic route then leads to the picturesque fishermen's huts of the Milly ponds, to the gentle hills above the Thérain valley and to the first folds of the Pays de Bray. You will discover Gerberoy, labeled "Most beautiful villages of France" and which deserves that you take the time to explore its cobbled streets and its Le Sidaner garden.

The hilly road of the Pays de Bray (in the Normandy Oise) continues via Wambez, Bois Aubert and Orsimont. You cross the Avenue Verte London-Paris and the N31 towards Saint-Germer de Fly and its abbey. The return to Beauvais is via the Avenue Verte London-Paris cycle path, stopping at each of the stops that give priority to cross-country roads.

You can shorten this 10-kilometre route from Wambez via Hanvoile, Villebray and Blacourt, to return to the Avenue Verte London-Paris at kilometre 51. All types of bikes are suitable for this micro-adventure.

In the heart of the Pays de Bray, in Oise, we find this magnificent abbey whose dimensions contrast with the size of the village. We understand its importance when we know that it is the oldest abbey of French Gothic art. Brightness, grandeur and beauty in a single building!
