Views of the Northern coastline

Highlight • Viewpoint

The coastal hikes are very strenuous. The paths are difficult to commit. BUT, between Gallegos and El Tabelo there are simply the best bays, views and impressions that a coastal hike can offer. Just do it!!!

February 22, 2023,Von Franceses nach Barlovento
A wonderful, somewhat strenuous tour on the Camino Real de la Costa, GR 130.
Easy to take the 120 bus to Franceses. The tour begins with a breathtaking, magical descent to the bottom of the first Barranco. There are three more to follow, with the corresponding ups and downs. In the Gallegos bar, we first have a coffee!

La Palma 🇮🇨 Trekking trip | Day 2: You have to walk through 7 wild, romantic jungle gorges

We start at our hotel in Barlovento and after quickly buying provisions, we set off. As soon as we leave the town, we see the sea in the distance again in the morning mist. We follow a Camino Real, one of the …

A dreamy way. Actually, I could have just taken pictures all day.
The descent was intense as the trail was extremely slippery, a mixture of rock, debris, mud and ash combined with rain...
There was sun for the ascent 🌞

Hm: the recordings of the other group members are at 600 - 700 Hm in ascent.

Today the 7 Barrancos hike was on the agenda. So we had to cross seven gorges. 7️⃣ Seven times down ↘️ and seven times up ↗️. We started right at the hotel. While we barely noticed the first Barrancos, the differences in altitude continued to increase. The sun also played along and became more and more visible 🌤️. And so …

Today a partial stage on the Camino Real: The seven Barrancos of the north. After the rain at breakfast, it was a dream day with great views of the coast and the observatories at the top. After six shorter Barrancos there is a small bar. Then comes the Barranco Franceses with a long, rocky descent and the longest climb back …

I love coastal hikes, so this hike is right up my alley here. The north coast of La Palma with its dragon trees, huge succulents, cacti and spurge plants has already inspired me 20 years ago. In addition, there are always great views of the north coast on both sides. Through various gorges (here called Barrancos) it goes noticeably up …

Last year I stopped the tour shortly before Gallegos and ran away from the 🐐 goats 🤭🙈 ... well they fought ... today they were behind a fence and I was safely on the way ... a varied, difficult coastal tour with a lot of up and down through little barancos. The paths were not easy to walk. But that's …

A real hiking highlight! Wonderful gorges, lots of green, always summer and again and again the view of the sea. Very exhausting, a "red" tour, but not too difficult. With the (punctual) bus you can go back to the starting point in about 45 minutes.
