Glorious gravel and historic villages characterise this 25-mile (40 km) loop which connects Brockenhurst, Burley and Lyndhurst. The Tour is mostly on compact gravel but there are a few sections around the villages where you’ll cycle on a short segment of road. There are a couple of climbs but the…

Trail Reviews

Lilie Weaver
August 23, 2025, Three villages New Forest cycle

Great for a casual cycle, about 1/3 on roads, rest on very good tracks. 3 villages nicely spaced for a leisurely coffee or lunch, plenty of cafes and pubs! @Claw

It was a lovely ride even with a couple of cheeky but manageable climbs, saw the odd pony and donkey 😆. Borrowed the route from @Alice Baddeley

Day 1 of @Deleted User Winter Warmer fundraising event. As always the New Forest never fails to disappoint - filled with beautiful gravel tracks, a fantastic cafe stop at The Woods Cyclery and then a very cold dip with some other enthusiastic bikepackers in the river by Balmers Lawn. The river was relatively slow flowing and safe to enter in January, but also relatively shallow (just above knee depth in the deepest) so only suitable for a dip, rather than a swim.

A route that's absolutely fantastic for a chilled party pace bikepacking trip where photo and snack stops are valued. The route started in Brockenhurst, (easily accessible by train) to The Woods Cyclery in Lyndhurst (a must stop for coffee and cake). It followed lovely, dry gravel paths. There are a couple of gentle inclines but lots of gates that kept everyone together. Lunch stop at the Foresters Arms in Brockenhurst (amazing heated outdoor area and bike friendly) where we picked up more people and Orca the dog before heading to Acres down campsite and The Trusty Servant pub for dinner!
