This easy loop tour typically takes around 1 hour and 16 minutes to complete. It's a relatively short and pleasant walk, perfect for a leisurely outing.
Yes, this route is classified as easy. It's well-suited for beginners and those looking for a relaxed walk with minimal elevation gain, offering beautiful views without strenuous effort.
The Malcesine loop tour starts and ends in the charming town of Malcesine. You can typically find parking in various public lots within Malcesine, though availability can vary, especially during peak season. Consider starting near the historic center for easy access to the trail.
The terrain is generally easy, consisting of a mix of paved roads, tarmac, and well-maintained paths. While some sections might be slightly uneven, it's mostly smooth and accessible, making it comfortable for most walkers.
Along the route, you'll encounter several points of interest. Highlights include the historic Scaliger Castle of Malcesine, the picturesque Old Harbour of Malcesine, and the grand Palace of the Captains of Malcesine. You'll also enjoy stunning View of Lake Garda and stroll along the Malcesine Lakeside Promenade.
Thanks to its relatively low altitude, this loop tour can be enjoyed year-round. Spring and autumn offer pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds, while summer is vibrant but can be warmer. Even in winter, it's often a lovely walk.
Yes, the Malcesine loop tour is generally dog-friendly. Many paths around Lake Garda welcome dogs, but always keep your dog on a leash, especially in populated areas and near wildlife, and remember to clean up after them.
No, you do not need any special permits or have to pay an entrance fee to hike this loop tour around Malcesine. It's freely accessible to the public.
Absolutely! Given its easy difficulty and relatively flat terrain, this loop tour is very suitable for families with children. It's a great way to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Garda together.
Yes, this route incorporates sections of other established paths. You'll find yourself on parts of the Via Lungolago and the Via Castello, as well as a small portion of the longer European long distance path E7 - part Italy.
Malcesine is a bustling town with numerous cafes, restaurants, and shops right along the route and in the town center. You'll have plenty of options to grab a coffee, a meal, or a refreshing drink before, during, or after your hike.
We spent and enjoyed the last day at Lake Garda extensively in Malcesine. We look at the cable car that goes up to Monte Baldo. We actually wanted to go up, but I'm a shithead and don't really like riding in cable cars if it can be avoided. 50 euros for the two of us, we found it quite expensive. When we saw the snakes everyone wanted to take the train, that was done for us anyway. So we took a long walk on the beach. Now it's time to say goodbye tomorrow, we certainly weren't here for the last time. It was nice! Tomorrow we're going to South Tyrol for a week on the Ritten, the complete opposite of Lake Garda. Absolute peace and hopefully beautiful hikes.
Malcesine is opposite Limone. In a few minutes you can take the boat to the other side. There is even a light breeze blowing here, which makes it a little more bearable.🥵
Holidays in Limone sul Garda... pure dolce vita... we stroll through the beautiful alleys and enjoy delicious gelato in hot temperatures. The boat takes you to Malcesine with its idyllic old town, the great little harbor and the magnificent Scalinger Castle. Along the beautiful lake promenade we enjoy the view of the beautiful Lake Garda and I swim a little lap right away... I've got bathing shoes with me, there are a lot of stones here...otherwise ouch😉😀 Greetings to you and enjoy the weekend ☀️🦋🐞🐝🌸💦
