Main viewing platform on the north side of the waterfall. The paths here are beautifully laid out. And the tourists on the other side are also nice.

You can almost see behind the waterfall. It is located directly on the Ring Road and worth every break

The last stop before we have to return the camper. Tomorrow we fly back to the Netherlands. What a holiday! Iceland is really bizarrely beautiful!

I can only recommend looking at the falls from both banks and from the bridge. There are always new, great views🤩

Had to skip our first walk because of the snow. So then we were happy with the tourist attraction "Godafoss". Where we see more people for the first time.
This waterfall, located in the course of the Skjálfandafljót, is divided into several branches and flows into a valley of basalt rocks. It impresses less by its dimensions (12 m high …

Finally the rain has stopped. So there was a lot on the agenda today. First stop:
The Waterfall of the Gods or the Divine Waterfall. Very beautiful and also impressive.

... Iceland without a foss is like Munich without beer. 🤣 This foss, 30 m wide, 12 m deep, was very 👍 . It's also great that in Iceland this foss was built right next to the road. That means it's easy and simple to get to. 🤣

The river Skjálfandafljót plunges around 11m into the depths in an arch that is 158m wide. Loud roaring, impressive rock formations and seemingly endless masses of water - this is the Godafoss waterfall.

I was reminded a little of Niagara Falls and enjoyed this natural spectacle in glorious sunshine.

The waterfall can be explored from the east and west sides.

... and there it is, Godafoss. One of the larger and most famous falls. Beside us, 4900 of the 5000 passengers from the cruise ship that docked in Akureyri today (see pictures under Iceland (9)) also seem to be there. Only the 100 passengers with the Hanta virus had to stay on the ship...😂😂
