Hard mountain bike ride. Very good fitness required. Advanced riding skills necessary. The starting point of the route is accessible with public transport.

Falls of Roy

Highlight • Waterfall

Seems a popular place for tourists. I did not ride the bike down to the Falls, so wondering what it is like. I was tired after a demanding trail at the end

Highlight • Lake

Up from Fort Augustus, Loch Tarf lies in a hollow. A lake can hardly be more picturesque.

Corrieyairack Pass Gravel Road

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

This gravel road weaves it way from Fort Augustus to the River Spey. Multiple hairpin bends take you to a short descent towards a reservoir and hidden wind farm beyond. Great riding in a remote but accessible location.

Asphalt making easier riding is a good part of any trail, especially after hill climbing sections

Windy day. My photos never saved on phone, had a camera with me and someone else's photos
The 1st half of the route you seem to be climbing constantly, but what views you see along the way from Loch Ness to picturesque valleys to spectacular long distance views until you reach a huge wind farm. We tried going on a gravel path that was barely visible and after a mile or there was no trace so had …
