Outerside Summit

Highlight • Viewpoint

Outerside is a 1,955-foot (568 m) Wainwright fell in the north-west Lake District. Many sources include Outerside as a key feature of the Coledale Round but others see it as an optional extra. The summit is a great vantage point to look at Force Crag Mine just below Grisdedale Pike, which closed in 1990.

Barrow Summit

Highlight • Summit

Barrow is a 1,493-foot (455 m) Wainwright in the North Western fells of the Lake District. On a clear day from the summit you can appreciate the view across the fells of the Coledale Round, the Skiddaw massif, the Helvellyn range, Derwent Water and Bassenthwaite Lake. Much of Barrow is covered in heather.

Barrow Summit

Highlight • Viewpoint

The accent up to Barrow reminds me a bit of Catbells. 3-4 stages of elevation, leveling off each time.
I parked in Braithwaite Village, just as you come in and just down the the road from The Royal Oak pub. Found street parking (luckily) but this little village gets packed.
