Highlight • Bridge

Deep clough which is the site of an old quarry which you can walk down and after some wet weather there will be nice little waterfalls.

Joe Whitter Fell Runners Memorial

Highlight • Viewpoint

Joe Whitter was a local fell runner who developed a brain tumour at a relatively young age and passed away in 1990 at the age of 52. The moors of Anglezarke were Joe’s training ground, and a few months after his death, a memorial plaque was placed at this spot in his honour.

Great Hill Summit Shelter

Highlight • Natural Monument

Part of the West Pennine Moors, so plenty bog around, well pathed from white coppice and over spitlers edge. One of my favorite local hills. Views over to Darwen Tower (aka The Rocket) as well as Winter Hill and Rivington Pike. Can be approached from a few different directions. Nice summit shelter for a brew and lunch!
