Landsberger Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The Landsberger Hut is a great rest stop on the Three Lakes Tour and on all other hikes above Lake Vilsalpsee. It's also a perfect base for further summit climbs. The hut has 30 beds in shared rooms and 80 beds in a dormitory.

The hut is open from late May to mid-October; in winter, there is also a small winter room with 16 beds. Information and reservations at dav-landsberg.de/landsbergerhuette.

June 9, 2023,Teil 1 von Tannheim zum Vilsalpsee weiter zur Traualpe und dann zur Landsberger Hütte
Today we set off on a tour with the aim of spending a night at the Landsberger Hütte. The start was again in Tannheim, from where it was relatively flat to the Vilsalpsee. After a short rest we headed towards Traualpsee and the Alpe. It only goes uphill to the alp and the lake, over rocks and a lot of …

The actual destinations were the Schochenspitze and Sulzspitze. Unfortunately we underestimated the snow and therefore the ascent to the first summit was hardly possible. When we then saw that the summit was getting thick with thick clouds, we decided to turn around.
Nevertheless, the ascent to the Landsberger Hütte was very worthwhile, where there was also a delicious stop.

The plan was actually to spend the night at the Landsberger Hut, but shortly before the destination I unfortunately had to turn back for reasons of common sense.
The path from Vilsalpsee to Traualpsee is completely clear except for a few tiny patches of snow. From Traualpsee onwards, snowshoes are very helpful if you don't want to sink completely up …

We actually planned a roundtrip from the Vilsalpsee to the Schrecksee, but unfortunately there was still too much snow for our little furry friend to manage. Nevertheless, a wonderful hike with good friends in one of the most beautiful surroundings of Austria :) We will definitely revisit sometime in the summer to complete our tour!
