It is remarkable that, when the mill was decommissioned, at a certain point the screw and screw box had disappeared and the watercourses were filled with soil! The mill had, as it were, been secretly made completely unsuitable for pumping water.
A very large restoration took place at the beginning of the 21st century. After the restoration of 2002, the mill was transferred to the Molenstichting Nijefurd. The Wetterskip Fryslân has designated this mill as a reserve pumping station in the event of serious flooding.
