The church is Grade I listed. The current building dates from the 14th century, but was restored in 1847 by James Piers St Aubyn and in 1896–97 by John Oldrid Scott.

The church's distance from the centre of the village is thought be because it was next to Duffield Bridge, which was used by pilgrims and other travellers.

Great little walk very muddy today though. Changed it a little so as to keep off the roads.

Well, What a Wonderful Walk that Was! 🌞The bright sunshine helped of course, much better than I was expecting, really enjoyed it.
Set off from Duffield Church along the Derwent to Allestree Park, where you could easily spend all afternoon walking round. What a super place, just outside Derby City, perfect for families.
