Not far from the fire watchtower!
This fantastically beautiful path is located away from the hiking highways. It's worth a detour!

Looks interesting, but the place is not quite right. Walk about 100 m.

A beautiful shady round on mostly narrow paths, which are often overgrown and blocked with tree trunks. Perfect for tick collecting! 🤣

For me definitely one of the most beautiful tours I have walked here in the region.
A lot of narrow paths, sometimes a little jungle feeling and now and then it goes over a tree trunk.
If you are not put off by a few stinging nettles and would like to (feel like) have a whole forest to yourself, this …

Great tour on many small hiking trails - highly recommended!

However, it had rained a bit a lot the days before, so there were lots of puddles and the paths were often a bit muddy - this didn't spoil the fun of hiking, but you should wear sturdy and waterproof shoes and be prepared to have to clean them afterwards …

Today we went to the vicinity of Haltern am See on the spur of the moment, you have to take advantage of the nice weather after all.
The starting point was the parking lot 🅿️ at the Waldschenke Hohe Mark. Parking is free here.
In good hiking weather we walked part of the Hohen Mark Steig.

Wonderful tour:
On crooked paths through the Hohe Mark, away from the main hiking trails...

This tour was very nice from the nature. However, very overgrown and paths were ... well ... gone?

A beautiful, sunny tour through the Hohe Mark region, with some lovely views, plenty of forest, and thankfully very little asphalt. In contrast to Haltern am See (very close by and certainly crowded), it was pleasantly quiet and pleasant to walk here. An interesting area 😊
