The Middleton Cowboy is the work of local metal worker Paul Richardson of "Steel Sculptures".

St Andrew's Church and Ruins, Walberswick

Highlight • Religious Site

St Andrew's is the fourth church to have been built in Walberswick. It is tucked into the south-west corner of the ruins of the third church. Personally I think the church and ruins are best viewed first thing in the morning as the sun rises from the east

View of Blyth Marshes

Highlight • Natural

Great section of gravel track that takes you from Southwold to Walberswick along the old rail line. During the busier months it can become very busy with other runners, walkers and cyclists.

Part of the old Southwold to Halesworth train line. If you follow the line towards Walbeswick you can still see remains of the station platform as the footpath leaves the line of the track.

Beautiful, if slightly overrun, historic fishing port and now a chi-chi resort full of second homes. Still very appealing though, with lovely historic streets and buildings, not to mention the Adnams Brewery.

Dunwich Leper Hospital Ruins

Highlight • Historical Site

If you should ride through Dunwich you'll see St James's Church. It's worth stopping to take a look if nothing the interior is beautiful but it also has the ruins of the leper hospital at its rear with the history displayed if your interested

Leiston Abbey

Highlight • Historical Site

One of Suffolk’s most impressive monastic ruins, according to English Heritage, Leiston Abbey has some remarkable architectural design.

These ruins date back to 1182 and was founded by Ranulf de Glanville, Henry II’s Chief Justiciar.

Thorpeness Meare

Highlight • Lake

Thorpeness Meare is a boating lake like no other. The lake with its islands and surrounds covers around sixty acres in total, with over forty acres of water.

Reassuringly, nowhere in the lake is more than 3ft deep, so it provides a very safe boating environment.

The islands were named by J.M Barrie, the creator of Peter Pan.
