Sunken Roman Road and Devil's Bridge

Highlight (Segment) • Bridge

An old, flint-walled, sunken Roman road. A lot of the flint is on the ground now. Granny gears will be used if you're travelling uphill from Nettleden. Pass under 'Devil's Bridge' - shrouded in legends of ghosts and occult. Best ridden at night... obviously.

The Alford Arms

Highlight • Restaurant

This is probably the best gastro pubs in Ashridge so it's busy a lot of the time. Great for a quick refreshment stop on a local MTB ride.

Holy Trinity Church and Village Green

Highlight • Religious Site

This church, built in 1868, is unusual for its architecture: it's positively Byzantine! The designed was the well-known ecclesiastical architect Francis Cranmer Penrose.

Directly outside the church is the village's green, and a rather lovely pond, with strategically placed benches, obviously specifically designed for your weary legs!
