Marburg very quiet and idyllic, postcard pictures are possible here - ideally very early in the morning.

The Weidenhäuser Bridge is the oldest Lahn bridge in the central Hessian city of Marburg. The first stone bridge over the Lahn stood at this point as early as the middle of the 13th century. In the Middle Ages it was called the City Bridge or Long Bridge. Today's 4-span arch bridge made of sandstone dates from 1892. It connects the western old town with the eastern district of Weidenhausen and is still one of the most important traffic arteries in Marburg. Completely renovated in 2019.

The Upper Town (Old Town) really has a large number of historically beautiful half-timbered houses to offer. Even if you leave the main path you will find beautiful half-timbered houses in the sometimes very narrow streets.

Marburg is a great university town! I wouldn't mind if one of our children wanted to study here 😅 There are thousands of highlights to explore, I haven't seen everything by a long way. Marburg is located quite a way up the hill. That's why there are elevators... but I didn't use one. I preferred to walk up the great …

Because I was alone in Marburg recently and thought it was so great to be with @Wodi🕊🇺🇦 today 👫🏼😊

Today I devoted myself entirely to the Brothers Grimm. This tour and others are available free of charge with a QR code. From The Fisherman and His Wife to Little Red Riding Hood, there were at least 10 stories included. Each story offered background information, meaning, and sometimes even some truly macabre tales. It was exciting, and many a saying …

Last stop today in Marburg. I studied here from 2002 to 2008. So, I started by following familiar paths and then, thanks to Komoot, discovered completely new views. Many things evoke old memories, some are unrecognizable, and I've never been to the Kirchspitze viewpoint before! I'd barely ordered dinner on the market square when it started to rain heavily. The …

Today is "hiking break". Before we continue on the Lahn hiking trail, we take a break and take a look at Marburg. At temperatures of over 30 degrees, extensive ice breaks are necessary. It is extremely sweaty to explore the "city of stairs" in this weather.

It's a good thing that we made a stop in Marburg. And the planned two hours turned into around five. This lively university town, shaped by students, inspires with its historic buildings, medieval half-timbered houses and wide panoramas. We only stayed west of the Lahn. Here is the old town in the upper town as well as the Landgrave's Castle, …

Today we used the 9 euro ticket again and took the train 🚉 to Marburg for the 3TM city festival (3 days Marburg). Since the Brothers Grimm studied in this beautiful city, you will find many references to their fairy tales on the Grimm-Dich path 🐸🪰👠🪞🐐.

A beautiful, lively city, with extraordinary and beautifully maintained half-timbered houses at the foot of the Landgrave's Castle. Highly Recommended!
