August 23, 2024,Durch die Höllschlucht zur Kappeler Alp. ⛰️🐮
Today we drove to the Allgäu again and worked up a sweat. Through the Höllschlucht, it goes steeply over roots etc. up to the Kappeler Alp with its summit cross. So beautiful up there with the cows. Pure Allgäu feeling. From the summit cross, in good conditions, you can see as far as Neischwanstein, unfortunately too hazy today. Treated myself …

As the path across the alpine meadow to Kappeler Alp was very slippery due to the melting snow, we chose the road for the way back. However, it is very boring, so when the ground conditions are better, the path through the forest is preferable.

We went through a beautiful ravine today 🤩. Fascinated by the large stones that have grown together with the moss, a beautiful hiking trail with the colorful autumn leaves on the ground, waterfalls that splash down just beautifully 🤩 and finally we passed a summit cross..

Sure-footedness is important. Now at the beginning of April, the Höllenschlucht is free of snow and ice, but still very wet

Showing Translation

The climb to the Kappel'er Alp is really not far; the path leads up through the Höllenschlucht and is very strenuous and difficult to walk; a certain level of sure-footedness is an advantage here. Once at the top, we had a snack on the mountain pasture. A little tip: take a spare shirt with you; I didn't have one 😁
