Wonderful piece of path above the vineyards with a great view of the burial chapel and Rotenberg as well as Luginsland. Not far away, the Kappelberg tunnel runs under the mountain.

Vineyards at Kappelberg

Highlight • Viewpoint

You want to suck the clear air up here deep into the lungs, while the view sweeps over the surrounding countryside. Especially in the autumn just before sunset a spectacle.

March 27, 2022,2022-03-27 - Rundwanderung um den Kappelberg, Kernenturm, Grabkapelle Rotenberg
Beautiful hike with the Swabian Alb Association Waldhausen Rems led by Michael Reik.

On New Year's Day I went east again to a corner behind Stuttgart that I don't know yet. There was the opportunity to spontaneously join a small hiking group and I took advantage of it.

It's always interesting how well you can get along with complete strangers if you share the same hobby. So there were good conversations about nature …

A must for every Schurwald hiker: the kiosk (near Maik) at the Kernenturm.

A wonderful tour from Uhlbach through the beautiful vineyards, past the Kernenturm, Kappelberg, and the burial chapel on the Württemberg hill. Finish with a delicious drop at the Uhlbach winery.

The last three km were by car, I forgot to complete the hike 😋

Through late autumn forest and vineyard landscapes from Rotenberg via Siebenlinden, the Katharinenlinde and the Kernenturm to Fellbach. A beautiful and varied hike.

Showing Translation

The grave chapel on the Württemberg in the Rotenberg district of Stuttgart is a mausoleum on the summit of the Rotenberg, which was only renamed Württemberg in 1907. King William I of Württemberg had it built after the death of his second wife, Katharina Pavlovna.

Showing Translation

A very beautiful tour through the forest and vineyards. The burial chapel on the Württemberg hill is very impressive.
