Thomas Mann Trail

Highlight • Trail

Thomas Mann got the inspiration for his novel "The Magic Mountain" from his own stay in Davos. His wife Katia fell ill with tuberculosis and traveled to the Davos forest sanatorium for a lying cure. In honor of the well-known literary figure there is now the Thomas Mann Way.

The mountain inn at the pass at 2,352 meters offers very affordable and comfortable accommodations. After a delicious dinner, you can enjoy the sunset or even a clear, starry night – and then a wonderful night's sleep. The hearty breakfast is a delight, but the menu also offers a wide selection. Highly recommended!

From the Parsenn Höhenweg via the Panoramaweg to the Strelapass. Then via the Felsenweg up to the Weissfluhjoch. Breathtaking views included!
For the hike, take the Parsennbahn to the Höhenweg middle station. You briefly climb the path to the Höhenweg and follow the signs towards the Strelapass. On the way to the Strelapass, there are always opportunities to take a photo - the view of Davos and the surrounding mountain peaks is simply magnificent. There are also various beautiful places with benches on the way to the Strelapass that are suitable for a picnic. At the Strelapass at the latest, it is time for a short break - enjoy one of the local delicacies in the restaurant on the pass. On the impressive Felsenweg you circle the small Schiahorn. The striking rock formations directly on the path are also ideal photo subjects. Finally, a rocky path leads through the Haupterttäli up to the Weissfluhjoch, where you will again be rewarded with a wonderful view of Davos. You can take the Parsennbahn cable car back down to the valley.
