Church of Santa Maria Regina dei Popoli in Preval

Preval is a place of incomparable natural beauty, with its hilly geographical area located astride the Italian-Slovenian border. In the valley, since the 10th century, there has been a sacred place testified by archival documents with the name of Santa Maria del Preval. The first archaeological evidence of a sacred building in Preval is instead from the early Middle Ages, a horseshoe-shaped construction dating back to the 8th – 10th century.
