Triumphal Arch

Highlight • Monument

The Arch was build in memory of WWI troops and it's 26 meters high. It was built between 1922-1936 by the architect Petre Antonescu. It was renovated in 2016, and it's one of the iconic buildings of Bucharest. You can sometimes visit the Arch inside and use the stairs to get to the top for a nice view.

Bucharest was once known as "the little Paris", also because of the Arch de Triumph.

Right next to the Arch you can also find the most beautiful park of Bucharest, Herastrau (Regele Mihai I).

The terrain where the Bordei Park stands was bought by the Bucharest Municipality from the Marmorosch Blank Bank in 1932 for a price of 16 million lei. The park was officially opened in 1938 by King Carol II of Romania.
