We started in Salzgitter with thick fog and when we arrived in Asse, the weather was perfect for taking photos...

Today we went to Wittmar in the Wolfenbüttel district to do a short hike in the wintery Asse in inversion weather conditions. My daughter accompanied us today. From the starting point, the first 900m are the best: Liebesallee, Bismarck Tower, lookout point and the Asseburg ruins, you can't get any better than that.
At the Asseburg we were also able …

Great hike. Partly steep uphill, but the view is worth it. Lots of benches with a beautiful view to take a break on. The climb up the tower is also worth it.
Don't forget your stamp booklet :)

Happy Mother's Day to all of you …

Thanks to Bucherfee and Thore for being here yesterday and going your own way!

There are said to be 243 Bismarck towers in Germany, 15 of them in Lower Saxony (source: bismarcktuerme.net). It's high time to visit one of them. And the one in Wismar has the charm that you can climb it. And very close by is the Asseburg. Today a ruin with a rather special flair. And what else? Beautiful beech forest, …

At the start the Elm was hardly visible and so I guessed what was coming. Only past the game reserve and the archery range to the quarry. From there up on the Kammweg, along the Philosophenweg. There then came some white balls from the sky and walked the beautiful wintry path. Around the Röhrberg we went to the Assehaus. The …

Today was ❤ Lady Hiking Day before Mother's Day.
The male part has time for a solo tour 😜

It started from the hiking car park in Wittmar. From there you can take the Liebesweg to the Bismarkturm and the Asseburg is not far either.
There are all nice single trails to walk, it's always nice and easy up and …
