It is something very special to climb a mountain at 4:30 in the morning when everyone is asleep. You are completely alone on the hiking trails and the autumn wind makes you believe that cars or animals are coming behind you. In addition, you can watch the sunrise over Kochel in the morning and if you get warm quickly, it is easier to hike in the low temperatures. In a nutshell, a great little adventure with potential.

Great view of the valley, which makes up for the quite steep ascent.

View of Kochelsee and Herzogstand

Hello hikers, up on the Jochberg is extra class. Entrance from the Kesselbergstrasse car park is located in a U, approx. 1 km before Lake Walchensee. Before you get there it's about 700 meters uphill for a good 2-2.5 km :-). Very varied with forest, gravel bed, rock and path sections. Exhausting anyway... it goes up.
But once you get to the top... a dream!!! Best view of Walchensee and Kochelsee ever... and to the south of the mountain ranges of the foothills of the Alps. Insane view with comparatively little effort. No cable car, no lift, no parking lot, no kiosk provides technology on this mountain. A mountain cross... of course it has to be. Have a snack upstairs and just linger for an hour. Take a few pictures and then go back downstairs. A nice trip for sporty families. Unforgettable. Greetings Armin

Afternoon tour to the panoramic viewing balcony under the Jochberg.
From the 🅿️ at Dorst, first briefly on the forest road then further up the steep forest path. Past the Kienberg 🧗🏽 through sparse mountain forest, steeply up to the Sonnen🔆spitz. Short stop to inhale the view and then continue on the path to the Graseck.
A true panoramic tour …

If it is too crowded at the "summit", you can confidently go a little further. There are still several nice snack spots with a view of the Kochelsee.

On the west side of Lake Kochel, the trail goes steeply uphill, past rocks and then onto the ridge of the Graseck. It's definitely not very high, but it's directly above the lake, which lies like a jewel in the plain. Continue past the Sonnenspitze and down to the Kienstein, which you could also take with you.

*with a short detour/descent to the 📱🔍 instead of the planned Graseck visit. Successful ✅😄

Showing Translation

The ascent through the forest without a forest road is very steep and not recommended as a descent route. You can get to the top relatively quickly for that. It's often quite crowded at the summit. If you can stand the snack a little longer, you can simply continue in the direction of Graseck. There are still many spots with …

It went along the foot of the Brandenstein in the direction of the Graseck summit 🏔
Since I was out pretty early, I was spared the view of the Tegernsee. Neither from the Graseck nor from the Sonnenspitz could I see further than the hand. Nevertheless, I can only recommend the tour and will definitely start again in better weather. …
