Wippinger Mill

The Wippinger Mill is a so-called gallery-style Dutch mill and a drive-through mill. The upper mill house is mounted on a rotating mill tower that can be adjusted to suit the wind. The mill was in operation for a long time and played an important role in regional agriculture. In the 1970s, the mill was renovated and has since been a historical landmark and a popular tourist destination.

From Lathen we drove on Sögeler-Strasse until just past Lathen-Wahn. Then we went through the “NSG Tinner and Staverner Dose” shooting area, past Sprakel to Sögel. After a visit to Clemenswerth Castle, we drove via Werpeloh to Wippingen. There is a beautiful mill here and the local history association served coffee and cake. We returned to Lathen via Renkenberge.
