The former quarry was extensively recultivated in cooperation with the NABU after decommissioning between 2005 and 2008, creating a unique natural paradise. Therefore, the lake is reserved for the flora and fauna. Leisure activities are understandably prohibited.

April 17, 2022,Durch das Buchenbachtal - Runde von Burgstall (Murr)
Today's hike led through the nature reserve of the Buchenbach valley near Burgstall.

Beautiful hike through the Buchenbachtal nature reserve, past many old stone bridges. The way back goes along typical orchards. If you are out and about at the weekend, you can stop off at a pub in Kirschenhardthof. In wet weather it can be quite muddy and one spot a bit tricky. So it is best to wear trekking or hiking …

Many thanks to the unknown author of this path.
Today we just followed a recommended route.
The Buchenbachtal - simply beautiful.
Long stretches along the water or over meadows in the valley and the way back then over the height.
10km that were worth it :-)

The path mostly leads along the stream, which currently has a lot of water. Plus narrow, slippery paths. Good profile is absolutely necessary.
Great hike. And here too it is blooming everywhere.

Today we were without grumbling and enjoying the Murr on the way! In Burgstall we first had to get out of the maze of streets to find our starting position and in retrospect one is always smarter, because the ideal starting point is the train station 🚉 From here it goes in an easterly direction above the Murr and parallel …

On the road again today with the 🚈 S-Bahn.
Start Burgstall/Murr station, part of the route on paved paths, through 🦋nature reserve and a beautiful 🌊bach valley. At the end of a small, steep ascent on narrow forest paths (pure nature).

Did a leisurely photo tour with a former colleague today. I got the tour from Komoot, but it largely follows a signposted hiking route (red grapes).

I didn't have my 📷 with me, but the binoculars. Watching both a Red Kite and a Kestrel in flight was fantastic. The tour of the valley was also very nice.
