Southeast corner of Linacre Middle Reservoir

This is a lovely place just west of Chesterfield just on the edge of the Peak District. It’s three reservoirs and some lovely woods with trunk carvings. Great for kids. It’s mostly flat so a good option for people who want to get out without feeling too intense.

There is an official bike route around the reservoirs. And unofficial trails in the wooded areas but you will come across people walking on them so very hard to get any speed has you can not see what's around the corner

Path Through Hippersick Wood and Grassland

This is a nice little shortcut and forms part of the Linacre circuit. If heading from Loads Road head for the post in the field before turning left and enjoying a short but sweet downhill section to join Harewood Road. Be aware cows are often in the field they are lovely but the path can get really cut up.

Harewood Moor

Highlight • Natural

A real gem of proper moorland (heather filled in late summer) a stones throw from Chesterfield (you can see the world famous Crooked Spire from up here). This forms part of the well known Linacre circle route. It is also a great detour if heading over to Matlock, Beeley /Chatsworth side from Chesterfield. It can also link in to the fast Hunger hill lane / Cat holes descent.

July 30, 2023,Mountain Bike Ride 🙂🚴

Had a spin to Linacre and then over to Holymoorside to go on a few trails I hadn't been on for over a decade. Much fun was had with lots of scratches and stings from overgrown bridleways 😁, oh and beat the rain this time 😆🚴
