Spitzingsee

Highlight • Lake

The Spitzingsee is a dream and can be ridden as a stop on a three-lake tour together with the Schliersee and Tegernsee. The connection between Tegernsee (Rottach-Egern) and Spitzingsee is formed by the beautiful Valepp toll road. One of my personal highlights, which I ride regularly. Absolutely brilliant!

On the tour, you should definitely pack a wind jacket for the various descents! Especially if you go up to the alpine pastures above 1,400 meters and along the Valepp.

Lake Spitzing

Highlight • Lake

The area around the Spitzingsee is one of the most popular hiking areas around Munich. Hikers have the choice of either walking directly on the shore or making a detour to the surrounding pastures, huts and mountains. I like to combine both activities and jump into the refreshing lake after the mountain hike. Always a recommendation, no matter what the season!

Along the Schliersee there are always beautiful corners to sit down and simply let nature enchant you. The banks are almost always on the circular route around the Schliersee and you can also simply stop by bike.

Schliersee Lakeside Trail (West Shore)

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Continuously paved path along the Schliersee. Especially on weekends and when the weather is nice, all hell breaks loose here.

Hachja, the Tegernsee. If it hadn't been overrun by tourism, it would always be a wonderful highlight. If you can come here during the week, there is much less going on.

My favorite tour! You can extend it by not turning off towards Sutten in Valepp, but continuing on. You'll reach the Weissach River behind Kreuth and cycle back to Tegernsee along the beautiful cycle path. I've ridden this route several times. I can send you the profile upon request.

A lovely ride with everything the pre-Alps can offer - lakes, streams, Gelato, Wiener-schnitzel .
Parking is tricky in Rottach, worth going further a few km to Kreuth.
Beautiful route with great nature! Was very impressive. 😳

The best part was the delightful meal at Berg at the end ( and of course , my companion!)
The first mountain is extreme. But once you've done that, it's a walk.

First trip into the mountains in great weather. From Tegernsee to the Kreuzberg Alm. Continue to Schliersee and up to Spitzingsee. Obere Firstalm Leier is closed. A quick descent on tarmac to the car past Stutensee, Moni Alm, and the Rottach Waterfalls. Awesome first day in the mountains. 🏔️🚴‍♂️👍😄
