View of the Baltic Sea from the Rerik-Mechelsdorf Cycle Path

Highlight • Viewpoint

If you have managed to hike up here or ride your bike here, you can enjoy a very nice view of nature and especially of the water. Just lovely. 😊

The way to Rerik is unusually mountainous. Up and down the coast with a strong headwind. But the view of the coast is nice. The bike / footpaths are narrow but ok.

The almost four kilometer long promenade in the Baltic Sea resort is the longest promenade in Germany. It connects the east with the west of Kühlungsborn.

The tour is super beautiful.
In strong winds an e-bike is very helpful

Start was from the camper place Rerik. Didn't think the tour would be so hilly. Unfortunately, the Baltic Sea cycle route is partially closed. On the way back to the lighthouse it was €2.50 entry, but once you're there... The lighthouse has the last entry at around 3:45 p.m. The view of the mountain is great too. Nice tour about …

Leisurely bike tour in the afternoon for a cappuccino in Rerik.
On the "steep coast" part of the cycle path has broken away, there you have to push. Otherwise a tour with slight inclines.

Showing Translation

Beautiful tour to Rerik, panoramic mountain on the way there, coastal path on the way back, fish sandwich in Rerik, cinnamon roll in Eenas in Kühlungsborn, nightcap in Annett's beach bar...

Showing Translation

Passage directly on the beach - bike path no longer exists. Had to push the bikes directly along the beach.

Showing Translation

The start is outside Kühlungsborn, in a free parking lot.

The way there along the beach is partially designated as a hiking trail. Cyclists should dismount. The path leads through sand and is only about 20 - 30 cm wide in places. So pushing makes sense and is more relaxed for walkers with and without four-legged friends. Was a nice tour.
