The "Islands in the Great Plön Lake and Störland Peninsula" nature reserve includes the islands of Alswarder, Konau, Langes Warder, Rottenwarder, smaller offshore islands, and the Störland peninsula. Including the waters, it covers an area of 261 hectares. The mainland, the islands, and large parts of the waters belonging to the reserve are off-limits. However, a beautiful path leads through a double bend from Sepel to Godau, offering magnificent views of the reserve. The extensive shallow waters, the windless areas, and the relatively low disturbance intensity make the reserve particularly attractive for waterfowl.
