The stones are already very weathered and you can't see much, but the story behind them is of course interesting. Unfortunately, there is no seating here, so if you want to take a break near here, you should do so beforehand (or on the way back) at the border triangle. There are tables and benches there.

Stolberg Deer Monument

Highlight • Monument

The two paths that lead to the monument were once the bridle paths of the lords of the castle. Irmgard von Stollberg had this monument with the heraldic animal of Stolberg reached after a heavy blow.
She lost father and husband within 4 days.

Stolberg Town Hall

Highlight • Historical Site

The town hall from 1454 is an architectural curiosity because it has no staircase. Access to the upper floors is only possible via an external staircase, which also leads up to the late Gothic St. Martini Church.

The small town of Stolberg is by far one of the most beautiful historical towns in the Harz Mountains. The place is beautifully at your feet from the Luther beech. The best thing to do afterwards is to walk down the Himmelsleiter and at the other end of the village up the Bandweg again, so you can see the beautiful village from all sides. Don't forget to visit the castle!

That was another beautiful day!
We have seen and experienced a lot. 3 squirrels, 3 deer, 5 fallow deer, a poisonous black-blue oil beetle, 11 people along the hiking trails.😎
The town of Stolberg was great, we looked at the great streets with the half-timbered houses, the church, a café (great cakes and friendly service), and the Luther beech tree.

Beautiful Stolberg

For our Sunday walk in the Harz we drive 2 hours by car. But before most people get up, we are already at our starting point today! 😊 Cloudy weather accompanies us on the way, no sun in sight, sometimes light rain. As soon as we arrive in Stolberg, the sky turns blue and the sun comes through. …

.... Second tour after the winter break was probably exhausting.

Showing Translation

Today, the two of us went on this beautiful tour. Lots of mud and changeable weather conditions accompanied us the whole way. It was incredibly great at the Lutherbuche and at the reservoir. We simply stamped at the Dreiherrenstein and moved on. Many meters of altitude had to be overcome and a stream had to be jumped over (for lack …
