Hexgreave Estate Bridleway

Highlight • Trail

Hexgreave estate was a farm but has been converted into a modern living and working estate with homes and office space available. It's beautiful and well managed with parkland and some nice old buildings. There is also a café as part of the estate, a good stop for a coffee or snack. The café is open Mon to Fri 8:30 - 15:00.
The estate grounds are private but the main road through the estate is a bridleway so cycling is permitted. This make a nice route with very few cars but a good surface. There are a few gates to stop cars.

The Veg Stop

Highlight • Cafe

Greengrocers-cum-coffee shop serving Nottinghamshire's finest 200 Degrees coffee. Highly rated for a low-key, mid-ride coffee. They also stock local ice creams and all the bananas you might need on a bike ride. Open daily from 8.30. Longer opening hours with a great courtyard space until 7pm in the summer.

(They also do really cute flower bouquets if you suddenly realise you're missing an anniversary/birthday/special occasion etc while out riding!)

Great little cafe spot in the heart of Southwell. Lovely location beside the Southwell Minster. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors, plus space to park bikes. Amazing cake selection and generous sandwich choices.
Open everyday. Mon to Sat 9:30 - 16:00 and Sun 10:00 - 16:00.

Eakring Windmill

Highlight • Other

If you're seeking refreshment, The Saville Arms represents the last remaining pub in the village of Eakring – there used to be seven! The Daffodil Tearoom is also a delicious option.

Interestingly, Eakring was once the largest on-shore oil field in Britain, after the precious resource was discovered here in 1939. Though today the oil is spent, Eakring maintains its charm thanks to distinctive red-roofed houses, its five-storey brick windmill and the friendly locals.
