At 5 degrees Celsius, with slightly cloudy skies and a bit of Saharan dust, I did a loop hike from Simmelsdorf to the Wetterstein Hut. The route led through forests, meadows, across beautiful clearings and up hills with fantastic panoramic views. Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of asphalt, but the visibility was great 😃

With the best weather, I was drawn once again today to the other corner of the Nuremberg region and into the foothills of Franconian Switzerland.

It starts at the train station in Simmelsdorf. A small detour to Tucherschloss was of course not to be missed, although you don't see much from the gate.
