Highlight • Lake

The Oleftalsperre protects the surrounding communities from flooding and is used to obtain drinking water. It is very impressive to cycle along this huge reservoir.

Monschau Old Town

Highlight • Settlement

Shortly before reaching the old town, there is a top vantage point on the corpse alley. Nicely located, with a wonderful view of the evangelical church and the Red House, among other things.

Obersee at Einruhr

Highlight • Lake

The non-navigable part of the Obersee is a little out of sight, but it is still a beautiful piece of nature. On the way from Obersee to Monschau, the cycle path first passes it.

The bridge, named after the last Belgian commander, Victor Neels, fits very well into the landscape. At the end you can expect a 16 percent gradient up to Vogelsang.

An absolutely impressive route. If you just drive to the dam wall, it's absolutely flat. Expect a lot of hikers on the weekend.

Great tour, with fantastic weather.
I started in Schleiden. The first km we went along the main road to Hellenthal. From there the route became fantastic. It went up to the dam wall of the Olef dam, but it was easy to manage with an e-bike.
A
beautiful path along the banks of the dam to where the Olef flows …

A very nice tour with lots of water and one or two tough climbs. It was very nice 👍

Beautiful tour through the Fuhrtsbachtal and the Eierbachtal. From Kalterherberg we went to Einruhr via the Rur cycle path. Very nice and of course highly recommended! Unfortunately, since we started relatively late, I didn't have time to take any pictures.

A super beautiful tour from Hellenthal to Einruhr... Great trails, and several opportunities for something to eat and drink. Great... BUT... there's almost no internet on the tour, so it's best to download it beforehand 😉👍
