April 5, 2023,Wildnis-Trail: Eine Wanderung im Zeichen der Wildkatze... - Tag 4 - Wanderung
Today we cheated a little. Since our accommodation is in Hasenfeld and we had to extend the stage yesterday, we started halfway up today. Right at the beginning it was "only" 2.5 km steadily and sometimes steeply uphill. If we had started in Heimbach, I probably wouldn't have had any desire (or air) at the highest point.
The narrow forest …

Nice tour, train 🚂 ride from Zerkall to Heimbach is also recorded 🙃

So done !!!
The weather was still OK from time to time light rain showers but in between also sun.
It was a bit better with my knees today, but it was also much shorter.

Today Friederike and I started our last stage of the wilderness trail. The hike from Heimbach to Zerkall is the shortest of the four stages but our longest, as we shortened the previous stages to our level. It leads through the north of the national park over a length of 17.8 km.

After 4 stages, here's my personal overall conclusion about the Eifel Wilderness Trail:

So: That "WILDERNESS" and "TRAIL" thing... 🙂‍↔️
You'd better get that out of your head right away. 🤌
This isn't the first time that the name of a hiking trail has created high expectations that can only be disappointed in reality. The promise was great, but unfortunately, …

The last day and the last tour. I find the trail condition very strenuous, as a large part is predominantly gravel. Smiling helps 😃.
I wouldn't want to miss the small paths in between.
All in all, I'm smiling 😃 from ear to ear🥳
What more could I want, I'm satisfied 🤘🥾🌞🌧
