Wolfegg Automobile Museum

Highlight • Monument

The automobile museum of Fritz B. Busch was founded in 1973 by the automobile journalist Fritz B. Busch (1922-2010) in a 500-year-old outbuilding of the princely castle of Waldburg-Wolfegg in Wolfegg. After several extensions and embellishments it counted more than 200 classic cars on an exhibition area of approx. 3,000 m².

There were cars, scooters, motorcycles, tractors and caravans from everyday life, but also special models. The museum was closed at the end of October 2016. The exhibits moved to the Auto & Traktor Museum. In April 2017, a new car museum was opened on the site of the former museum. The new Automuseum Wolfegg focuses on the vehicles of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

View of the Loreto Chapel Wolfegg

Highlight • Religious Site

The Loreto Chapel has attracted pilgrims and visitors throughout the centuries. While the chapel often saw large processions in the Baroque period, today it is a tranquil but permanent place of pilgrimage. The rosary has been prayed daily in the Loreto Chapel since the early 18th century, and is documented since 1726, to this day. The rosary prayer takes place daily at 3:00 p.m.

On pilgrimage days, the Rosary Festival (first Sunday in October) and Ascension Day, it is combined with a solemn rosary or May devotion. The Wolfegg Rosary Brotherhood has existed since 1695 to promote the rosary prayer, and you can apply to the Catholic parish office to join it.

On the first Saturday of every month, the Holy Mass in honor of the Mother of God takes place as a pilgrimage service at 9:00 a.m. The chapel is also often used for pilgrimage services of other parishes, for group services or weddings.

Arma Christi Cross, Wolfegg, side road towards Rötenbach, near Annaburg.

The Arma Christi Cross is a folk cross type depicting the instruments of Christ's Passion (Arma Christi), such as the crown of thorns, lance, hammer, and nails. It was particularly common in Upper Swabia and the Allgäu region (Wolfegg area) during the 19th century and is often also known as a Capuchin or Passion Cross.
