Rock Formations on the Ith-Hils Trail

Impressive rock formation on the Ith-Hils path

The upper cliff path or Lüerdissener cliff path goes beautifully right along the Ith cliffs above. You can always go to / on / under the respective cliffs (where away). So don't be afraid to miss something when planning your way. Watch out, nature reserve. So only go where you are allowed, if only for safety reasons. Every now and then you can see climbers, this is explicitly allowed on individual cliffs.

Kamelkopf Rock Formation

Highlight • Natural Monument

The rock in the area. With its roof intersection, it's one of the dream lines in Northern Germany.

Anaconda is by far the 'must do' line here, but some of the other routes are also recommended.

Lüerdissen Cliffs

Highlight • Natural Monument

One bizarre rock formation follows the next in the Lüerdissen cliffs. No wonder the area is so popular with rock climbers. The Ith-Hils-Weg runs above the cliffs on the ridge, just below the upper cliff path and finally below the rocks the lower cliff path - if you want to explore the area extensively, take some time and do a little round here.

Please note that some of the rock heads are closed. Stepping on these cliffs is therefore not permitted for reasons of nature conservation. The closures are usually signposted. Please stay on the paths and only use designated stairs between the cliffs in order to preserve the area sustainably and prevent rock erosion.

Stone Tree Stump in the Ith Forest

Here someone came up with something and put different stones on the tree. We also chose a stone and placed it :-)

Ith Ridge Trail

Highlight • Trail

The natural ridge path along the Ith cliffs leads through the most beautiful nature and is peppered with vantage points for fantastic views. Good physical condition and surefootedness are a basic requirement for large parts of the path, however, especially when the paths become narrow trails. The winding paths, the constant ups and downs, which can make the path an exhausting challenge, should not be underestimated.
