Absolute NO GO - path in the second half of the way back from Orient is impassable due to dead wood and no longer recognizable - from the (dilapidated) old farm with goats take the road!

Historic Village of Orient

Highlight • Settlement

The historic town centre with old stone houses from the 14th and 15th centuries and the church of Sant Jordi from the 18th century is grouped around the village square. The village, with around 30 inhabitants, owes its wealth to its agricultural past with olive groves, apple and almond orchards, sheep and goat farming. The terraces laid out on slopes by the Moors dominate the landscape here. The whole village has been a listed building since 2010. The origin of the name Orient (from the Latin sol oriens, "rising sun") is associated with the fact that it is located in the east of the Serra de Tramuntana as the village of the "rising sun".
