Freewheel North has a programme of guided bike rides and bikes to buy, borrow or rent. There is a bike workshop offering on-the-spot patches and fixes as well as a more in-depth repair service. The plans for the building include regeneration with natural materials, solar panels and an innovative water source heat pump.

Just one mile from the hustle and bustle of the city centre lies the green space of Glasgow’s only inner-city Local Nature Reserve – The Claypits.

Originally the home of a clay quarry used when the Forth & Clyde Canal was first built in the late 1700s, it was also the site of a foundry, glassworks and boat-building yard. These industries are long gone but the historic canal buildings, the oldest in Scotland, still dot the banks.

Speirs Wharf

Highlight • Structure

Speirs Wharf is a Glasgow city landmark on the Forth and Clyde Canal. The buildings here were built in 1851 as grain mills, storage & the offices of the Forth & Clyde Navigation Co. They were converted into apartments and retail space in 1989.
Today it's a trendy place with a nice cafe and leisure facilities. The canal is a good place to run, and this is a good stop if your running from the city centre or back into town.

Rockvilla, the new headquarters for the National Theatre of Scotland, brings together various departments and facilities that were previously scattered across several different locations. The meshing of previously disparate elements is a key tenet of the design.
