View of the River Dee from Llangollen Bridge

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Llangollen Bridge is a grade 1 listed structure in the centre of the town. It crosses the River Dee. There has been a bridge here since 1284 but the current bridge dates back to the 12th or 13th century. It's doubled in width since it was first built.

This beautiful, picturesque heritage railway is located beside the historic Dee Bridge (built in 1345) and journeys 10 miles through the picturesque Dee Valley from Llangollen to the town of Corwen.

Llangollen Wharf

Highlight • Rest Area

Here at Llangollen Wharf they run 45 minute and 2 hour Horse Drawn Boat Trips towards the Horseshoe Falls and 2 hour motor boat trips across Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. They have a Tea Room at the Wharf serving breakfasts, light lunches and afternoon tea. Home made cakes are our speciality. They also have self drive Dayboats for hire.

This incredible spot provides unreal 360 views over the surrounding countryside, including Castell Dinas Bran, Llangollen, the Llantysilio Hills and as far on as the Berwyn Mountains. It has a remote feeling to it, and makes for some great fast trail running.

Offa's Dyke Stone Slabs

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

Be careful of walkers! Sleepers can be slippery in the wet and it is technical in places, but it's a great way to link One Planet Adventure into a longer mountain bike/gravel ride.

Cyrn-y-Brain Summit

Highlight (Segment) • Summit

As the route comes out of Llandegla Forest, there is a lovely exposed section of trail, climbing to the cairns at Cyrn-y-Brain, at 565m the highest point for a few miles. On a clear day the view over the Dee Valley from here are breathtaking

World's End, Eglwyseg Valley

Highlight • Gorge

The narrow vale at the head of Eglwyseg Valley is a popular destination for hikers and bikers all year round. The long-distance footpath Offa's Dyke Path, which stretches 176 miles (283 km) across the historic border between England and Wales passes through it.

View of World's End

Highlight • Viewpoint

The views from here are unreal, and for any trail runner, the trails underfoot are challenging, yet fast and fun.
