Lôn Gwyrfai Lakeside Path

The path along the lake is very nice. Part of it is actually a kind of dam you walk on, with a barrier on both sides so you have to stay on the path. Because the dam is elevated, you have a good view of the lake and the surroundings.

Rhyd Ddu Path

With the spectacular Snowdon Massif to the east, the Nantlle Ridge rising dramatically to the west and the grand Moel Hebog and family to the south, Rhyd Ddu is simply a fantastic basecamp for hiking adventures in Snowdonia. It is a wonder that relatively few people come here.

The Rhyd Ddu Path up Snowdon leaves from the village, whilst the Snowdon Ranger begins just to the north by Llyn Cwellyn. Snowdon's exciting but quiet South Ridge is accessible from here too. Meanwhile, to the west, the Nantlle Ridge is a sensational ridge walk with some low-end scrambling.

After a day on the trails, the Cwellyn Arms is a great pub with a host of accommodation options. You can also hop on the charming West Highland Railway from the village.
