An idyllic place for a break. Settle on the dock, enjoy your brought food and keep your eyes open for the local birds.

Baggersee Schweinfurt

Highlight • Lake

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed. It's better to take a walk south of the lake. It's also interesting to see how many prohibition signs have been posted around the lake.

Baggersee Schweinfurt

Highlight • Lake

Very good DLRG-guarded swimming lake. The lake is very pleasantly fresh - because it is quite deep.

On the day we were there, the consistency was a bit cloudy (clayey), but the lake still has good water quality.

The dune of golden beige sand that suddenly appears in the forest was probably once a sand hollow.

Quickly, before the summer hype starts, made a little tour around the Schweinfurt lakes.
Started at the main parking lot of the Schweinfurter Baggersee, then down to the Tannigweiher and back again.

Chased through the forest by gnats... but the wonderful swim in the quarry pond made my peace again!

With meet 5 on the way to the Schweinfurt lakes. We started in Grafenrheinfeld at the 'Alte Amtsvogtei', which was also our stop at the end of the hike.

By bike to the train station and then first on the train to Schweinfurt. From there by bike, from the station, to the quarry lake, which is well signposted. Then we set off on enchanted paths along idyllic lakes. A wonderful tour. Thanks to the MainPost, which presented this tour. We went back again with the DB and this time, …

In summer it is always nice and green and shady - but in winter it is definitely a mosquito-free zone. Either way, the quarry ponds are recommended at any time of year.

On a beautiful, sunny day, we took the city bus (public transport) to the Schweinfurt harbor area/quarry lake and from there hiked around the relatively close lakes (quarry lake = swimming lake, Sauerstücksee = bird sanctuary, and Senftenhofsee = fishing waters).

The stork's nest at Sauerstücksee is currently occupied. We saw a proud stork with a young stork.

On the way through deserted floodplain forests, through beaver country, along the lakes and even over the sand dune. It was a beautiful tour.
