These waterfalls are stunning in rain or shine, be careful across the rocks as they can be slippery when wet and the drops are step and dangerous.

You can cross the river at this point if the water is low enough and you are either dressed well or prepared to get wet, it was too deep for us, so we walked around, the view of this waterfall is best enjoyed on the far bank, but is a detour from the main walk.

Sgwd Gwladus Waterfall

This is just a beautiful walking area. If you do the 'full' 20km waterfall walk you can take in most of the waterfalls in this area that are on the rivers Mellte, Hepste and Nedd Fechan. You can start at a variety of points around the route that has car parking namely Ystradfellte, Porth Yr Ogof or Pontneddfechan. Otherwise just do the best sections of the walk. Sgwd Ddwli Uchaf (Upper Gushing Falls)

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Sgwd Ddwli Uchaf, or 'Upper Gushing Falls,' is a wonderful waterfall on the upper reaches of the Nedd Fechan. It is about the last of the bigger falls on the river. It is part of the waterfall country series of waterfall walks, and while this is not the biggest amongst them all, it is still a very pretty and scenic spot to spend some time.

Sgwd y Pannwr

Sgwd y Pannwr - 'fall of the fuller' or 'fall of the woollen washer' in Welsh - is the lowermost of the three much-loved falls on the Mellte. Like something from a Jungle Book scene, this waterfall is as dramatic as it is beautiful.

Sgwd Yr Eira

Highlight • Waterfall

Sgwd Yr Eira is the star attraction of the Brecon Beacons' much-loved 'Waterfall Country' walk. Meaning 'fall of snow' in Welsh, it tumbles over the 50 foot (15.2 m) tall cliff like a beautiful veil of water. What makes the waterfall so special is that you can walk behind it for a truly incredible thing to experience. Do take care when walking behind the falls, though, as the path is rocky, wet and slippery. Make sure you have decent walking boots and waterproofs.

Loose, steep trail down to the pools but well worth the effort. Good footwear is a must if you want to climb down into the gorge. Silica mine needs a decent torch, phone light will not cut through the dark when you get further in!

today there was 💯 nature. We were out in Brecon Beacons National Park looking for waterfalls. Waterfall is called Sgwd in Welsh and since the Welsh don't have vowels, I wrote down all 8
