My second lake for today is also located near the small town of Puttelange-aux-Lacs in France.
It is also part of the "Maginot Line," an extensive flooding system designed to create a natural barrier for advancing German troops during World War II.
This defensive structure slowed the German advance to the battle of June 14, 1940, the Saar Breakthrough.
