Piazza Grande

Highlight • Historical Site

The Piazza del Duomo, built in the twelfth century, took the name Grande from the second half of the seventeenth century. It has always been the place from which the political power of the representatives of the citizens is administered, but also the religious power of the church, as the cathedral stands next to it.

San Giorgio Church, Modena

Highlight • Religious Site

The church of San Giorgio, in the center of Modena, stands on an ancient medieval church, which has been mentioned since 1189. It belongs to the diocese of Modena and the current project is attributed to the ducal court architect Gaspare Vigarani. The main altar in polychrome marble from 1666 is the work of Antonio Loraghi and contains the image of the "Madonna Help of Christians of the Modenese people", the work of Pietro Paolo dell'Abate (1617).

September 14, 2024,training 29.A Bastiglia, ritorno per canale Attiraglio
The road along the Attiraglio canal would be very nice and pleasant, just outside the city, along the canal, full of herons, a bit asphalted a bit dirt; too bad it stinks a lot!!!
Sooner or later they will decide to clean it up!!!
