A beautiful place to stop and take a break in the Novellara and Reggiolo Valleys. La Cà dal Vigliac (in Italian Casa del Vigliacco, also referred to as old chiavica), so named from the nickname of the gamekeeper who lived there and who also worked as a fisherman. Its activity consisted in the control of the “burghin” or “bartavel”, that is the traps for catching fish, which were lowered in the evening, to be then resumed the next morning; this fisherman often went around with his horse and rifle along the embankment to check that other fishermen did not steal his traps. However, it is said that he used to go and steal other people's pots: for this reason I was called "The Coward".
