The large, monumental-looking building from 1959 is located on Bahnstrasse, at Paul-Lincke-Platz 1. Benches under the roof of the plane trees invite you to linger in front of the Kulturhaus. This square is named after the famous Berlin operetta composer Paul Lincke, who from 1881 to 1884 acquired the musical tools for his later activities in the Wittenberg city pipeline. The bust in front of the Festspielhaus commemorates this popular composer.

Catholic Church of St. Heinrich

Highlight • Religious Site

The Catholic parish of St. Heinrich has existed since 1853 and belongs to the Archdiocese of Berlin. In 1898, the Catholic church of St. Heinrich was ceremoniously consecrated in the neo-Romanesque style with a 42 m high tower.
The parish and the church were named after Emperor Henry II (973-1024), who was canonized in 1146 by Pope Eugene III (pope from 1145 to 1153).
In an air raid on April 10, 1945, the church was destroyed except for the ring walls. But by Christmas 1948, the church was fully usable again, although the 18 m high spire is still missing.
A controversial feature is the interior of the church, which was completely redesigned in a modern style in 1972 by the Dresden sculptor Friedrich Press. In 1985, the new organ was installed in the church and in 2012 the 18 m high spire was added.

Marie-Curie-Gymnasium (Building I)

Highlight • Structure

The Marie Curie High School in Wittenberge looks back on a long history. Founded in 1895 as a higher private boys' school, it developed over the years into an important educational institution in the region. Established in 1895 as a private boys' school, the school was transferred to municipal ownership in 1898. The main building (House 1) was erected in 1899–1900 according to plans by the Wittenberge town building councilor Friede Everhard Bruns. In 1900, the newly built building in Sandfurttrift, designed in the Neo-Gothic style with exposed brick facades, was occupied.

Today, the high school focuses on science subjects and has been a member of the Association of Excellence Centers in Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Schools (MINT-EC) since 2000.
