Burgheim Natural Pond

Highlight • Lake

Popularly known as the "bathing lake", the small offshoot of sports lake no. 5 attracts bathers from far and wide. As part of the LEADER project bathing lake, the natural pond was extensively redesigned in 2019. There are: two parking spaces, spacious lawns, children's play equipment, a sandpit, two grill stations as well as toilets and changing rooms. Other attractions: a wooden footbridge and a swimming island with entry and exit help. Some protective hedges were used on the road. Newly planted trees on the lawn will provide shade in the future. The recognized EU bathing lake has approx. 8 hectares of water and a depth of up to six meters.

Bertoldsheim Dam

Highlight • Structure

At Bertoldsheim, the Danube is dammed by a dam, which also has a sluice. The reservoir is a popular sailing area and also popular with canoeists. The adjacent smaller reservoirs are a bird sanctuary, so with a little luck you can see different species such as herons.
