A viewing platform was built here at the edge of Mühlbach towards Luitpoldhöhe. The ladder is not for people who are insecure or afraid of heights. The view from the top is very beautiful.

October 15, 2024,Luitpoldhöhe – Ruine Salzburg Runde von Bad Neuhaus
After a trip to Bad Neustadt an der Saale, with its well-preserved medieval city walls, we explore the southern part of the area. Over the Luitpoldhöhe, from where the Kreuzberg can be seen in good weather, we head back via the beautiful Salzburg and the small spa park.

When the weather is nice 🌞 everyone can 🚶‍♀️ hike ... Thickly wrapped up (would have been suitable for winter too) I ventured outside in the pouring rain in the afternoon. Shortly afterwards the rain stopped too and it became a nice hike. The trees and plants🌱☘️🍀🌿🌾 also get a completely different shine due to the moisture

After I couldn't get the saale radiology on the phone again to arrange an X-ray appointment 😤, I would have to go back in person... So this morning I'm going for a walk to the campus and then stretched it to one short hike to Salzburg to the Luitpoldhöhe.

"Premium City Hiking Trail" is the official name, and it's signposted accordingly.

The name is absolutely justified; a trail in a class of its own! I was particularly surprised by the excellently preserved Salzburg, which is even still inhabited. The Luitpoldshöhe, the Kurpark, the confluence of the Saale and Brend rivers, the city center, beautiful paths... and... and...
...highly recommended!

The premium hiking tour from Bad Neustart a. d. Saale offers a cross-section of the sights and views of the town and region, highly recommended 🌞😎

We didn't do the whole tour, we shortened the tour of the city and went straight to La Cucina :-)

Start 🛫 and end 🎯 at the bus station
Unfortunately we couldn't walk the whole way because the small bridge over the Brend (Schillerhain) is still closed due to construction work at the Juze (flood protection).
We always followed the "N" signposts, but apparently there are a few deviations from the available ".gpx" file...
