Radau waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

Always a beautiful sight in summer as well as in winter when there is frost. The Radau Waterfall is an experience in particular for children. A small hiking trail also leads up to the waterfall!

View of the Ecker Dam

Highlight • Viewpoint

A beautiful view of the dam, which we will cross a little later, framed by trees. A worthwhile hiking trail of around 10 km leads around the lake.

Boundary stone on the dam as a reminder between East and West. Here the inner-German border not only ran through the middle of the reservoir, but also directly over the dam wall.

What a great hike today. The weather was fantastic, steel blue skies and the first rays of spring sun. A bit of snow that slowly gave way to the sun, magical, mystical paths. I love the Eckertal. And the detour to Scharfenstein just had to be done. Absolute highlight! Can't get enough of it.
Only the Molkenhaus was disappointing. Waited …

Hiking Empresses👑👑 We're done. The last stamp from 222 we collected was No. 1 Eckertalsperre, four years and five months later 🙈 and about 1900 kilometers🤗 and we immediately stamped No. 1 in the new booklet 🙃

There are places that you have to visit once a year and for me that includes the Scharfensteinklippe❤. After I started from Ilsenburg for the first time last year, today I went again on well-known paths from the hiking car park at the Radau waterfall. First, the direct route to the Eckertalsperre was driven. Strolled a bit along the same …

Beautiful tour from Bad Harzburg via the Eckerstausee to Scharfenstein and back via Molkenhaus

Showing Translation

1. Start with the hiking bus at the Radau Waterfall
2. Climb to the Eckertalsperre (Ecker Dam) with a beautiful view of the Brocken. The border between East Germany and West Germany used to run here. A border stone on the dam wall commemorates this.

Today's hike led along the Radau to the Eckertalsperre. 🥵😎🥵From there we went to the ranger station. After a little refreshment (coffee and bockwurst) we went up to the windswept Scharfenstein.🌬🌬🌬
On the way back we were surprised by a rain shower. 🌂🌧🌧☔
