Naval Aviation Memorial

Highlight • Historical Site

Monument to the Mariene aviators, who have been missing in the North Atlantic since the founding of naval aviation.

Over 600 names of missing people are engraved on the shiny marble tablets. The list begins with two soldiers who died in free balloons around 1870 and 1902, then goes on to all the victims from both world wars, up to the victims of a helicopter crash in 1979, which occurred nearby.

The monument represents a broken wing and is by the sculptor André Bizette-Lindet.

Dolmen of Rostudel

Highlight • Historical Site

At this location there is a north-south oriented dolmen with its three-point support resting on three 1.5 m high supporting stones and a long ceiling plate. This building has also lost its tumulus (that is the original burial mound), possibly also its entrance, but in any case the intermediate masonry. It shows that the stone rows common in the area, such as the Lagatjar stone rows, were supplemented by such burial complexes.

In Crozon and the neighboring municipalities of Argol and Saint-Nie and on the hill of Ménez-Hom, there were once numerous simple dolmens. The dolmen type was common in this area.
