Opening tour of our cycling weekend in Soest. Via Bad Sassendorf we went into the Lippeauen and continued to Lippstadt. Extensive lunch break there. On the return tour, we went via Erwitte and the saltworks in Bad Westernkotten. A beautiful day with a great group. The total of seventeen participants made leading the tour very easy for me 🙂

Because of the tornado that raged here the day before yesterday on May 20th, 2022, we were not able to drive on some paths directly on the river.

Frightening and impressive the destruction left by the thunderstorm. Lots of trees uprooted and roofs destroyed.

Actually wanted to drive something more scenic. However, we had not considered the storm last week, which caused serious damage in the direction of Lippstadt. So many roads were closed. Especially the paths on the Lippe.
Tour was still very nice. Way back with a lot of headwind.
